We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. The Christchurch Women’s Centre only collects information needed to support you, improve our services, and provide a safe, welcoming environment.
This Privacy Statement explains how the Christchurch Women’s Centre collects, stores, uses, and may share your personal information.

We may collect personal information such as:
Your name and contact details (if you choose to provide them);
Information relevant to the support or services you access;
Feedback or responses to surveys (optional, and anonymous where possible).

Provide support, resources and referrals;
Understand community needs and improve our services;
Keep in touch with you if you have requested it (e.g. newsletters, updates);
Ensure health, safety and accountability within the Women’s Centre.

Your personal information is stored securely and accessible only by authorised team members
We do not share your information with third parties unless required by law or with your explicit consent
We follow best practice in data protection and confidentiality, in line with the Privacy Act 2020

Your Client file will be kept in our online health portal: Cliniko. You have the right to see your file, under the Privacy Act 2020.
The file is only accessible by your counsellor, who will access the file in order to provide counselling, and by the Women’s Centre Manager, who may access the file to ensure all professional responsibilities are met.
After your last counselling session, your file will be securely stored for 10 years, after which time it will be destroyed without further notice.
Confidentiality: at the beginning of your first counselling session, the counsellor will explain confidentiality, including the limits to confidentiality (where there is a concern for the safety of self, others, especially children, family harm and external supervision).

The Christchurch Women’s Centre website is built on the Squarespace platform. Our website only uses strictly necessary cookies, which do not track users. These cookies may be automatically used to support basic site functionality, and to verify secure data transmission (e.g. to prevent duplicate form submissions, for donation processing, and Anti-fraud check for Stripe payments).
Information submitted via forms on our website, is processed through Squarespace’s secure system, then sent to our organisation. We do not store or track this information ourselves.
