Taupua: Support, groups and activities
The Christchurch Women’s Centre offers a range of support services, groups and activities designed to support women’s wellbeing, life skills, connection, and sense of belonging.
All of our support services, groups and activities are grounded in compassion, respect, and empowerment, and women are welcome to participate at their own pace, in the ways that feel right for them.

At the Women’s Centre we aim to provide holistic support to help our clients and community empower themselves in all areas of life and wellbeing. Scroll down to find out more about the current services on available.

From time to time, the Women’s Centre offers wellbeing activities such as yoga and other gentle, restorative sessions. These activities are designed to support relaxation, connection, and self-care in a welcoming and inclusive environment. They provide women with an opportunity to slow down, reconnect with their bodies, and enjoy a sense of calm and community. Activities are optional, accessible, and open to women at all stages of their wellbeing journey—no prior experience is needed.
-
Our groups provide a safe, facilitated space for women to connect with others who may be experiencing similar challenges or life circumstances. These groups focus on shared understanding, mutual support, and reducing isolation, and are guided by clear boundaries to ensure safety, respect, and confidentiality.
-
Some of our support services, groups and activities have a service fee that goes towards covering overheads and keeping services running. Where applicable details of fees are listed with the description below.

Yoga
Every Friday, starting 27 February 2026
11:00am - 12:15pm
To nurture us from the inside out, we will continue into the new year to balance and nurture our nervous system and body-mind connection on Fridays through breathing and mindful Hatha Yoga movements.
With mindful Hatha movements, we create space in our body, relax our mind and restore our nervous system in a small, cosy and gentle space.
Bring your yoga mat (otherwise provided) and wear comfortable clothing.
