Meet our team
The management and administration team at the Christchurch Women’s Centre are the heart of the organisation, playing a vital role in creating a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment for all who walk through the door.
As the first point of contact, they offer compassionate, judgement-free support, taking the time to listen and understand each person’s needs. They help connect clients to the Centre’s services, provide information and guidance, and ensure that everyone feels seen, respected, and safe.
Behind the scenes, staff also keep the Centre running smoothly; coordinating programmes, supporting counsellors and facilitators, and nurturing a space where community, wellbeing, and empowerment can thrive.
Doreen

Doreen is the Centre Manager and psychotherapist who brings deep empathy, insight, and thoughtful leadership to every aspect of the Centre’s work. Drawing on her therapeutic experience, she creates a culture of understanding and emotional safety, ensuring that both clients and staff feel supported, heard, and respected. Doreen works closely with the team to guide services with care and professionalism, always holding women’s safety, dignity, and well-being at the Centre. Her compassionate approach, combined with a strong commitment to reflection, learning, and growth, helps shape the Centre into a place where women can feel truly safe, valued, and empowered within their community.
Pia

Pia is our Assistant Centre Manager and a key part of keeping the Centre running smoothly. She supports our team, helps coordinate day-to-day operations, and is often the friendly face welcoming women into the Centre. With a calm, organised approach and a big heart for our community. Pia plays an important role in making the Centre a safe and supportive place for everyone.
Kathy
Receptionist
Kathy is our friendly receptionist and often the first person you’ll meet when you arrive at the Centre. She helps with bookings, answers calls, and makes sure everyone feels welcomed and comfortable from the moment they walk through the door. Her kindness, patience, and warm smile help set the tone for the supportive environment we aim to create.
